Part-Time Youth/Child Caregiver (Special Needs)

Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient Youth/Child Caregiver to support children with special needs in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate has experience working with children who have developmental, behavioral, or physical disabilities and is committed to fostering growth, independence, and confidence.
This role requires emotional maturity, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to each child’s individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct care and supervision for children with special needs
Implement individualized care plans and behavior support strategies
Assist with daily living activities (feeding, hygiene, mobility support as needed)
Facilitate structured activities that promote social, emotional, and developmental growth
Support communication goals and sensory regulation strategies
Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and supervisors
Document progress and report any concerns promptly
Qualifications
Experience working with children with special needs (professional or personal experience preferred)
Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, or behavioral challenges preferred
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
Reliable transportation
Ability to pass background screening
Strong patience, empathy, and consistency
Preferred Qualifications
Background in education, psychology, social work, or related field
Experience with ABA strategies or behavioral support plans
Previous caregiving or respite care experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to actively engage with children (sitting on floor, light lifting, assisting with mobility if needed)
Ability to remain attentive and responsive during shifts
